Dr. Barrett received her degree in Educational Technology from the University of Florida. She has implemented laptop/1:1/BYOD programs into middle and high school classrooms. She is the founder of the CSTA-Florida chapter and is extremely interested in computer science education in the K12 environment. Old enough to remember programming on punch cards, Joanne is thrilled to work with students and faculty on creative ways to use technology across the curriculum and grade levels. As a mother of three girls and grandmother of five granddaughters, she has long understood the issues of gender and STEM and is working to change them.
