As Executive Director for the Destination Medical Center (DMC) Economic Development Agency (EDA) Lisa Clarke provides leadership to the DMC initiative, the largest public-private economic development partnership in the history of the State of Minnesota. DMC aims to create the world’s premier destination medical center and America’s City for Health with the investment and support of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, other private investors and partners, community organizations and local and state government. The DMC EDA provides services to achieve the vision of DMC, including economic development, marketing, finance, investor and developer relations, business development, and local, state, national and international stakeholder engagement. Clarke has spent 20 years with Mayo Clinic in progressive roles with the past seven years focused on providing leadership and strategic direction to realize the DMC vision. During this time, she organized research and defined the initiative’s needs, galvanized the legislation, built relationships throughout the community, region and state and now manages all aspects of the DMC initiative. Previously, Lisa served as division chair in the Department of Public Affairs where she provided leadership and strategic direction for Mayo Clinic’s Community Relations initiatives. In addition to her service as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Destination Medical Center Corporation and as a director of the DMC EDA Board of Directors, Lisa serves on many community and regional boards, including Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, the Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust, the Rochester Area Foundation, and the Rochester Airport Company. Lisa's education includes a M.B.A. from the University of St Thomas, Minneapolis, Minn., and a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse Wis.
