As the Blade Composite Specialist, Peter Lukens is responsible for the analysis of blade damages occurring in the field, as well as assisting with determination of the repair and replacement activities for blades in North America. Mr. Lukens joined Siemens Gamesa in 2007 as an Environmental Engineer in Manufacturing. Shortly after, he became a Blades Root Cause Analysis Engineer in the Quality Department, supporting both North America and global manufacturing. Peter then progressed to become the Advanced Maintenance Manager for the region’s Service department, managing the performance of major turbine maintenance activities for North America. In 2013, Peter took on a role heading up the Training Department for North America. He has held roles as a Project Manager, Training and Career Development Manager, and a Senior EHS and Training Manager. Peter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. Having worked in various areas of the organization, Peter looks to utilize past experiences and relationships to continue to assist and improve Siemens Gamesa towards a greener tomorrow. Peter serves as the O&M EHS Working Group Chair since August 2016 and is also the Vice Chair of the Wind Workforce Standards Committee since August of 2017.
