Dr. Ben Hassine is a civil engineer licensed in nineteen (19) US states and three (3) Canadian provinces Dr. Ben Hassine finished his Master of Engineering degree (Geotechnical) in 1987 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has accumulated over 30 years of practical experience in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, soil-structure interactions, reliability-based design, geohazard recognition and mitigation and risk assessment. For the last decade, Dr. Ben Hassine focused his professional activities to the renewable energy field covering utility-scale wind and solar energy conversion, electrical collection, transmission and distribution, and energy storage and regulation. Recently (December 2018), Dr. Ben Hassine obtained his Doctorate degree from Colorado School of Mines. His dissertation, titled “Direct Reliability-Based Design (d-RBD) of Shallow Wind Turbine Foundations” was a finalist for the Rath Research Award. Dr. Ben Hassine is active on several technical committees and has taken on leadership roles in multiple standard development organizations related to wind support structures and their foundation.
