Les Stanley is a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT). Les began his gaming career in May 1995, when he left law enforcement to pursue a career in tribal gaming regulation on the CRIT reservation. He was promoted to Executive Director in August 1998 and during his tenure with CRIT Gaming, he performed duties as a Gaming Inspector, Background Investigator, and Interim Chief of Inspectors prior to the Executive Director position. In January 2001, Les left Arizona and became a Gaming Commissioner for the Cahuilla Tribe in Southern California, eventually moving to the Barona Band of Mission Indians as Executive Director in June 2001. During his tenure with Barona, Les was intimately involved in the various new technologies Barona is known for pioneering such as, palm pilots used with slot accounting systems, mariposa marketing software, electronic fund transfers (EFT) to gaming devices, and server-based games. Les is currently the Executive Director for the Rincon Gaming Commission that has regulatory oversight of Harrah’s Resort Southern California, a position he obtained in April 2007. Les has been a speaker on several panels from new game technology, licensing standards, technical standards, and gaming investigations to being a guest speaker at several State Regulatory functions. Currently, he serves as Secretary of the National Tribal Gaming Commissions/Regulators (NTGCR) Board. Director Stanley is also commissioned by the FDA to conduct tobacco compliance within the boundaries of the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians Reservation.
