Jose Castaneda, as the business development director for Cummins Westport, Castaneda is responsible for interfacing with the various stakeholders and customers, primarily in the California market, to further advance the mission of providing the cleanest energy solution for the markets transportation needs. In addition to working with the various organizations and members of the natural gas supply chain, Castaneda also has responsibility for North America sales as well as North America market communications. Prior to joining the Cummins Westport team, Castaneda served as the business development and sales director for the Cummins Rocky Mountain region where he lead an aftermarket sales force covering 10 states supporting customers in the trucking, transit, government and municipal business as well as oil & gas and mining segments. In 2013 Castaneda was based in the Cummins Global Headquarters in Columbus, Indiana as the marketing lead for the new 95 liter diesel engine designed for the power generation, rail, marine, mining, and oil & gas markets. Castaneda has also led sales and marketing for the Power Generation aftermarket parts business responsible for North America and South America. He began his Cummins career as a strategy and special projects manager reporting to the president of the Power Generation Business, a $3.5B unit based in Minneapolis. In addition to being a member of the executive leadership team, Castaneda led various strategic projects and supported the president as chief of staff. Castaneda graduated from Southern Methodist University where he majored in political science, Latin American studies, and Spanish and obtained his MBA in global management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
