Mary Sieggreen is a Nurse Practitioner who has been working at the Detroit Medical Center for over 30 years in the field of vascular surgery and vascular nursing. She sees in-patients and out patients with vascular problems including cerebral vascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, and venous and lymphatic disorders. She is a wound specialist and has coauthored a book on pressure ulcers which is in its third edition. She is a clinical associate professor of nursing at Wayne State University. Mary has written book chapters and articles on vascular and wound care topics. She has presented vascular and wound care topics nationally and internationally. She has served as the certification liaison between the Society for Vascular Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was instrumental in creating the Standards for the Society for Vascular Nursing and served on the Expert Content Panel for the Cardiac/Vascular Certification Examination. She wrote the arterial and venous ulcer content for the Core Curriculum for the Society for Vascular Nursing and the American College of Phelebology. She is the immediate past President of the National Pressure Advisory Panel.
