Dotty Woodson
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension
Dotty Woodson, Ed. D. is Texas A&M Extension Specialist for Water Resources at the Dallas Research and Extension Center. She teaches Landscape Water Conservation by design, plant selection, and irrigation efficiency, rainwater harvesting and water quality protection. Woodson teaches professionals and homeowners. She started with Extension in May 1995 as a County Extension Agent in Tarrant County. Woodson has B. S. and M.S. degrees in Horticulture from Tarleton State University and a doctoral degree from Texas A&M and Texas Tech Universities. She appears weekly on NBC DFW Sunday Morning News. She wrote a garden column in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram from 1991 to 2011. Woodson has won numerous national and state awards for her horticulture programs, media work and Master Gardener and Junior Master Gardener programs. Dotty has lectured to many local, state, national and international audiences about water conservation practices and growing orchids. Reach her at d-woodson@tamu.edu.
