Andy Dickson is the IT Vice President of Digital Grid for all Exelon Utilities and the Chief Information Officer for ComEd.  As VP of Digital Grid, he is accountable for Project Delivery and Customer Engagement for the Utilities Communications Infrastructure, Data Analytics Platforms, Smart Meter Services, and Utility of the Future Programs across all 6 Exelon Utilities.  The Utilities Communication networks are made up of wired, wireless, and wireless mesh technologies and support real time operations (SCADA) and an “Internet of Things” made up of over 9 million Smart Meters and thousands of Distribution Automation Devices across all Exelon Utilities.  The current analytics platform hosts over 9 Petabytes of data.  His annual project portfolio in these areas is over $150M.   For more than 35 years, Andy has held a variety positions in information technology, engineering, and project management primarily for the utility sector.  Prior to his current role, Andy was IT VP, Cloud & Infrastructure Operations and served as IT VP, Generation.  He held many leadership roles in IT including Director of Nuclear Fleet Programs, Director of Nuclear Site Operations, and Director of Nuclear Real Time Systems.   Andy has a strong focus on Operations and Service Delivery and has been an Enterprise Architect, as well as managing teams in IT and Nuclear.  Andy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from Northwestern University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois and a PMI certified Project Management Professional.
