Battalion Chief



William has been with the Virginia Beach (VA) Fire Department since 1993 and is currently assigned as a battalion chief. He currently oversees the marine rescue and technical rescue teams in the city, and also serves as a logistics specialist for the Virginia Task Force 2 urban search and rescue team. He is the chair of the department’s operational planning team and serves on numerous committees. He is a member of the Hampton Roads incident management team and the sports director for the 2018 Hampton Roads CANAM Police and Fire Games. William holds a bachelor's degree in health and physical education and is working on completing his master's in exercise science. He is an adjunct instructor for the Tidewater Regional Fire Academy and an instructor with Real Fire Training, LLC.
