Gregory Reed is currently serving as Program Director for the National Science Foundation’s Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (NSF IUCRC) Program; and a Professor in the Swanson School of Engineering at the Univ. of Pittsburgh. Reed is also the owner of Power Grid Technology Consulting LLC. His research interests and teaching activities include advanced electric power grid and energy generation, transmission, and distribution system technologies. Reed has more than 33 years of combined industry and academic experience in the electric power and energy sector, including positions in engineering, R&D, and leadership throughout his career with the Consolidated Edison Co. of NY, ABB, Mitsubishi Electric, and DNV-KEMA. He is an active member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and the American Society of Engineering Education. Reed holds a Ph.D. in electric power engineering from the Univ. of Pittsburgh, M.Eng. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and B.S. - Gannon University.
