Leslie Armeniox, Ph.D., MCAT, LPC, BC-DMT, is a counselor, counselor educator, dance/movement therapist and health coach with over 30 years experience in clinical mental health, private practice, and wellness counseling with clients of all ages and from diverse backgrounds. She has worked as a counselor educator and supervisor for 20 years and currently teaches mental health cousneling at Capella University.Leslie earned her Ph.D. at UNC Greensboro in Counseling and Counselor Education, and her Master's in Creative Arts Therapy, Movement Specialty, at Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexell). Leslie practices mindfulness meditation, integrating it with movement meditation and authentic movement practice. Currently, she is introducing mindfulness to employees at Comporium Inc., and working with individuals on stress management and healthy lifestyle behaviors in her role as Health Coach. She is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist who specializes in nonverbal communication, body movement analysis, and applications of dance and creative arts in counseling. For the last 3 years, she worked in Hawaii and studied hula, Hawaiian medicine and multicultural counseling with Hawaiian, Asian, and Asian-Pacific populations. She serves as the Professional Relations Liaison to Counseling for the American Dance Therapy Association, and as a reviewer for Journal of Creativity in Mental Health. Leslie has been a frequent presenter at professional conferences in the US and abroad.
