Dr. Stacey D. Lyle, RPLS is a Research Scientist at Texas A&M University, in the College of Geoscience. He also works consulting with Binkley and Barfield, Inc., and Joe Orr, a Baseline Corporation, on engineering and surveying consulting services in the commercial, residential, industrial, energy, and transportation industry. Dr. Lyle is a former Team Lead in the Geomatics Team heading up the Surveying and Positioning defined practices for BP’s Lower48 division. Prior to coming to BP, he was an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering and Science at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi teaching Geomatics and Geospatial Surveying Engineering. Dr. Lyle started his UAV career working as GPS and Photogrammetric Specialist with Leica Geosystems in Heerbrugg Switzerland. He helped establish UAV research at TAMU-CC with his FAA CoA, his NASA Locally Launched Rocket direct georeferencing photogrammetry system, and he currently is developing an open-source UAV and GPS online processing solution for use in the Energy industry. He has over 50 peer reviewed and selected publications and is a former NASA Faculty Fellow, USDA Faculty Fellow, IOGP Geomatics Land Survey Sub-Committee member, and United Nations – Global Geospatial Information Management Energy Delegate.
