Rodney Gaddy serves as vice president of administrative services for Duke Energy. In this role, he is responsible for the real estate, land services, aviation and support services organizations. He and his team provide innovative, collaborative and cost-effective solutions to promote efficiency, improve operating margins and enhance environmental stewardship across the company. Gaddy previously managed the company’s government and community relations group in North Carolina, a position he was named to following the Duke Energy/Progress Energy merger in July 2012. He assumed his current position in October 2012. Prior to the merger, Gaddy served as vice president of Progress Energy’s Northern Region, which included 16 counties in north-central North Carolina, from 2009 to 2012. He oversaw the electric distribution and customer service operations for more than 560,000 homes and businesses. Gaddy joined Progress Energy Florida (formerly Florida Power Corp.) in 1992 and served in several roles in the company’s legal department, including deputy general counsel. In 2000, he was named vice president of administration, with responsibility for the legal, human resources, corporate communications and corporate services departments at Progress Energy Florida. In 2002, he went on to become vice president of Progress Energy Florida's South Coastal Region. From 2004 to 2009, Gaddy served as vice president of corporate services for Progress Energy. In that role, he was responsible for the company’s real estate, corporate security, environmental health and safety governance and risk management functions. Prior to joining Progress Energy, Gaddy was general counsel with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Gaddy chairs the board of trustees at Saint Augustine's University and serves on the boards for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte and Child Care Resources Inc. He also serves on advisory boards for Wake Enterprises and the Poole College of Management at North Car
