Bruce is the Managing Director of Enterprise Protective Services at Duke Energy. He is also a retired Special Agent from the US Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations. As an agent, he led and conducted felony criminal and counterintelligence and antiterrorism investigations. He has extensive physical security experience, leading and participating in numerous risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments throughout his career. Bruce retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service and began his career in the electricity sector at Carolina Power & Light (CP&L), and through a series of mergers, he worked in various leadership positions within Progress Energy and ultimately Duke Energy. As the Managing Director, Bruce is responsible for oversight and management of enterprise security operations (non-nuclear), physical security (regulated and non-regulated), Security officer/guard force management, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and regulatory compliance. He has been in the electric utility industry for approximately 17 years.
