Karen Babor is currently the Coaching Specialist for Instructional Technology for the School District of Lee County in Florida. The district is comprised of nearly 100 schools with over 92,000 students and 5,000 teachers. She has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Long Island University. Karen has 8 years’ experience supporting teachers in the area of instructional technology with 3 years at the district level. The most current district initiative is the rollout of the district’s 1:1 Chromebook implementation. 44,000 middle and high school students received their take-home devices. Her work with this rollout relates to the professional development and the access to district resources to support student learning and engagement.
