Colleen is an RN with over 27 years of acute care nursing experience. Colleen started working in CDI in 2005 and has worked in many capacities including program development and redesign, staff education and consulting. Currently she is the Director of Clinical Documentation Improvement at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston MA. Colleen was one of the founding members of The Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists and served on the Advisory Board in the early years. In 2008 Colleen authored the first edition of the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists Handbook, and has enjoyed many public speaking engagements on CDI subject matter. Collen has also worked with Vizient (formerly UHC) in developing CDI Standards of Best Practice with other Academic Medical Center industry colleagues.
