Walter Sachs

Walter Sachs is the Northwest Regional Managing Director for the Department of Children and Families (DCF). His responsibilities include the leadership of a variety of social services programs throughout the 14 county area covering the Florida panhandle. Prior to his recent return to DCF, he held the position of Inspector General at the Florida Department of Management Services. His responsibilities included: the deterrence, detection, and investigation of fraud, waste and abuse in the agency. In his previous employment with DCF, Walter coordinated, directed, and implemented all procurement and contract management actions in the public assistance program office, and worked with that Department for over 24 years in a variety of positions related to contracting activities. Walter received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida State University. He has also obtained a designation as a Certified Public Manager.
