Don Marson started his railroad career in 1973 with Canadian Pacific where he worked for nine years, and subsequently worked with Maine Central and several other freight railroads. He has held a wide variety of railroad operating positions, including train dispatcher, chief dispatcher, conductor, engineer, assistant superintendent of operations planning and control, director of locomotive utilization, director of rules and training, and vice president and general manager. He retired from the Maine Eastern Railroad in 2013. Marson has also been employed by GE Transportation, supporting PTC and CAD products, and worked for Lockheed Martin on U.S. and international PTC projects. He currently is a consultant with a focus on teaching rules and safety practices to the short line rail industry. He lives in his native State of Maine with my wife Linnay and cats, and enjoys photography, his hobby for more than four decades.
