Joy Alafia is the president and chief executive officer of the Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), an organization dedicated to the advancement and safe use of propane. WPGA values propane as part of California’s clean energy economy. Under her direction, the association is investing in renewable propane as well as seeking other innovative propane engine developments. Prior to joining WPGA, Alafia was the Director of Business Products for Real Estate Business Services, a subsidiary of the California Association of REALTORS®. In that capacity, Alafia developed creative partnerships to provide highly valued products and services to REALTORS®. Her employment history includes CVI Melles Griot, Intel, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI). Alafia also currently serves on the Board for the non-profit Building Diversity in Science, an organization committed to increasing the role of underrepresented groups in STEM careers.
