As managing director of Global Standards and Guidance for The Institute of Internal Auditors, Debi Roth is staff liaison to both the International Internal Audit Standards Board and the Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee. Throughout the development and July 2015 release of the IIA’s new International Professional Practices Framework, Debi served as staff liaison to the IIA’s IPPF Relook Task Force. In addition, Debi was a contributor and reviewer for the Quality Assessment Manual for the Internal Audit Activity published by the IIA Research Foundation in 2013. Joining The IIA initially in 2011 as a Quality Services director, Debi was responsible for managing staff, developing and maintaining client relationships, and executing external quality assessments for domestic and international clients in accordance with established IIA Standards and policies. She has been directly involved in more than 200 external quality assessments, as either a team member or an administrator. In March 2014, she joined the IIA’s Standards and Guidance team as a director. Outside of work, Debi’s volunteers as an audit committee member for Orange County Public Schools. She has been a board member and past president of The IIA’s Central Florida chapter and a past president of the Northwest Ohio chapter. Additionally, she has served as a member of the Learning Solutions Committee to the IIA’s North American Board. Debi holds the IIA’s Certified Internal Auditor designation and has more than 20 years of professional audit and tax experience in various industries, including healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, and banking. Before joining The IIA, her roles included enterprise risk manager for WellCare Health Plans and manager of internal audit for AirTran Airways. An Ohio native, Debi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from the University of Toledo.
