Mansi Brat is a doctoral student in the Counselor Education program at the University of Toledo. Her clinical experience includes working in a private practice and a community mental health agency with distressed adults, adolescents and families suffering mainly from physical and sexual abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, marital disharmony, developmental delays and grief. Currently, she works at the University Counseling Center where most of her clientele are college students’ ages 17 years and up. Mansi is a humanist and values strengths based approach in counseling. She empowers her clients to tap their inner creativity and purpose as she supports them through distress. Mansi is a certified yoga instructor and incorporates mindfulness skills of deep breathing, relaxation and meditation in her clinical practice. Mansi’s research interests include spirituality and meditation, multicultural counseling competence, professional advocacy, global counseling needs and exploring wellness in counseling. Mansi is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and holds memberships in various sub-divisions such as Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), Association of Humanistic Counseling (AHC) and Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES). She is the editorial assistant of the Journal of Humanistic Counseling for the 2015-2018 term.
