Scott Thomsen is a senior strategic advisor in communications for Seattle City Light, where his responsibilities include media relations and outage communications. He was instrumental in the development of the utility’s online outage map and many of the features in the Utilisocial platform. He is active in driving change in how utilities communicate with customers, and has helped other utilities leverage new tools and technologies to create new and meaningful customer experiences, including his leadership in the Outage Data Initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
