Erica is the regional business manager, organics and herbs, North America. Erica was selected by the founder of The Netherlands-based Vitalis Organic Seeds to steer the North American penetration effort and charged with driving all startup activities for the organic seed production and breeding business unit covering Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. She also facilitates organic certification on the grower and handler level per country and serves as an in-house expert in organic agriculture and breeding, herb production and regulation. Erica also outlines organic variety trait requirements per crop to contribute to the crop breeding models for organic agriculture. She possesses a Master of Science in agroecology and a doctorate in organic plant breeding.
