In 2019, Larry retired as a Principal Engineer for Alabama Power Company supporting Distribution SCADA, Distribution Automation, Switching Operations technologies, Integrated Distribution Management System & Smart Grid Strategy. Clark is past Chairman-IEEE PES Smart Distribution Working Group, Past Member-IEEE PES Intelligent Grid Coordinating Committee, Member & Past Chairman-DistribuTECH Distribution Automation Subcommittee, & Past Member of the Smart Grid Roadshow Conference Committee. During 51+ years of employment, Clark’s previous assignments included responsibilities for operation and maintenance of substations, and for planning, operation and maintenance of the electric distribution system. He is a frequent industry conference speaker for Distribution Automation, SCADA and Smart Distribution Grid. He has published 25 papers and made 110 presentations in the areas of Distribution Automation, SCADA and Smart Grid. Clark received a BSEE degree in 1970 from University of South Alabama. Clark is a Life Fellow Member of IEEE & registered professional engineer in Alabama.
