George Brown is the Compliance Manager for Acciona Energy USA Global LLC (Acciona). He is responsible for overseeing the energy regulatory compliance of Acciona’s renewable portfolio consisting of 11 wind generation assets and one concentrated solar asset that produce a combined total of 1092MW of electricity. Mr. Brown joined the Acciona team in 2008 as an Electrical System Operator in the System Operation Center managing Acciona’s generation assets in real time to ensure all the operations of these assets were completed in a safe and compliant manner. In 2011, he took on the role of the Regulatory Compliance Analyst where he developed and managed Acciona’s Internal Compliance Program, which consists, among other items, the development of internal policies, procedures and standards to ensure Acciona’s adherence with all applicable energy regulatory compliance requirements. Mr. Brown holds Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Benedictine University and a Master of Business Administration from Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI). He is an elected member of the Midwest Reliability Organization’s (MRO) Standards Committee and was a member on NERC’s Standard Drafting Team, Project 2014-01: Standards Applicability for Dispersed Power Producing Resources. He also held a NERC Balancing and Interchange Operator Certification from 2010 to 2013.
