Matthew J. Beck is a clinical faculty member in the Counselor Education Department at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities and a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at The University of Iowa. Matthew has worked in public education for 12 years as a teacher and a school counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school settings. His research and teaching interests focus on advocacy efforts in both school counseling and interdisciplinary LGBT education.
