Mr. Allen (Ben) is a Senior Electrical Engineer with Salient Power Engineering, LLC in Arvada, Colorado. He has over seven years of engineering consulting experience, ranging from detailed power systems studies including arc flash hazard analysis and mitigation, protection coordination, and system planning, to detailed utility and industrial substation design, as well as on-site testing and commissioning of medium and high voltage power installations. Ben has also designed and implemented SCADA system upgrades and many equipment replacement projects, and currently serves as a Project Manager for a number of clients, including wind generation asset companies, throughout the United States. Ben has obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering with an Electrical Specialty, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering and Technology Management, all from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Mr. Allen graduated Summa Cum Laude and is a member of Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society). He is also an active member in the Denver Chapter of the IEEE PES/IAS society and is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Colorado, New Jersey, and Texas.
