Central Michigan University
Ellen Armbruster earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at the University of New Mexico and is an assistant professor at Central Michigan University. Her professional background includes service as a mental health clinician and as a school counselor, and she has worked extensively with diverse and multicultural populations. She also holds a Master’s degree in Spanish and has taught several week-long counseling skills courses at a seminary in Matanzas, Cuba. In addition, she is an experienced practicum supervisor and has served as a site supervisor for internship students. Her research interests include attachment and anxiety, mandated counseling experiences for counselors-in-training, use of role play in group counseling instruction, and the supervisory relationship.
