Dr. Jill Cox has been engaged in clinical practice for over 35 years, including 24 years as a certified WOC nurse and advanced practice nurse in the acute care setting. Dr. Cox holds a faculty appointment at Rutgers University School of Nursing at the rank of Associate Clinical Professor and maintains her clinical practice as a WOC nurse /APN-Clinical Nurse Specialist at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood, NJ. Dr. Cox currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, and is past and current co-leader the for the critical care small working group for the development of the 2014 and 2019 NPUAP/EPUAP/Pan Pacific International Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Treatment guidelines. She is the immediate past chair for the WOCN National Education Committee. In 2015, she was the recipient of the Excellence in Research Award from the New Jersey Health Foundation. Dr. Cox obtained her PhD in Nursing from Rutgers University and her program of research focuses on pressure injury development in hospitalized patients with a specific interest in pressure injury risk determination in the adult critical care population.
