Steve Barnes serves as the Director of Science and Compliance for AquaStar Pool Products. He's the current Chair for the PHTA-16 Standard Writing Committee for VGBA-2017 (ANSI/APSP/ICC-16), a standard referenced in the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act. Having been a member of this Standard Writing Committee since 2002, his dedication to safety is evident. Additionally, he Chairs the PHTA Standards Process Committee, is Vice-Chair of the PHTA Commercial Council, and a member of the PHTA Technical Advisory Council to the PHTA Board of Directors. Since 1984, Steve's roles in the pool industry have focused on research, product development, industry education, and safety and sanitation equipment for swimming pool systems.
