Dr. Yi Hu is Director, Wide-Area Monitoring, Protection, Automation and Control (WAMPAC), & Executive Advisor at Quanta Technology. His areas of expertise are in system architect, design, implementation and system integration & testing for synchrophasor based WAMPAC systems, System Integrity Protection Schemes (SIPS), and grid operational data exchange infrastructure; power system protection and control; power system simulation studies and analysis; and standard/user requirements conformance testing and certification. He has over 26 years experience working with electric utilities / vendors in developing innovative concepts and methods, and was awarded 13 US patents. Dr. Hu is an IEEE Fellow, chairs of Power System Relaying Committee WG C21 and H21, lead instructor of EUCI “Application of Synchrophasor Technology” course, and author of over 20 technical papers.
