Mike Caranfa leads the Honeywell Smart Energy team in North America. Smart Energy is comprised of Honeywell's Connected Utility, Smart Grid, electric, water and gas metering along with demand response and energy efficiency products and services. Previously, he had responsibility for setting and implementing the vision and strategy needed to achieve the commercial goals of Honeywell Smart Energy across the Americas through management of sales, marketing, regulatory, contracts, delivery and sales operations. In his previous role with Elster, before the Honeywell acquisition, he filled the role of vice president and general manager of a regional Elster Solutions business unit. Prior to Elster, he spent 16 years in the telecommunications, technology and utility industries where he served in various leadership positions including managing business development teams and high performance sales organizations. Mike Caranfa is a retired Army Infantry officer with 22 years of combined service in the Army and Army National Guard. He earned his undergraduate degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and he earned his MBA from Penn State University. Mike is a frequent speaker at industry events and has been a contributor to industry trade magazines. He is active in his community having served as a commissioner and chairman for the City of Plano as well as actively participating in leadership roles in his local Scouting organization.
