Richard Ray, a 30-year veteran of the fire service, has both volunteer and career experience.  He is a member of the Creedmoor Vol. Fire Dept. (NC) where he is a Captain. He is also a career firefighter with the Durham Fire Dept. (NC) where he is a Battalion Chief.  He has instructed at FDIC, Firehouse World, SAFRE, MAFFC, SAFRE, SC Fire Rescue Conference, Virginia Fire Rescue Conference and has written for Fire Engineering Magazine.  He is a member of the UL FSRI Residential Home Size-Up and Search & Rescue Operations Technical Panel.
