Tom has over forty years experience, with 25 years in a variety of technical and managerial positions at Xcel Energy. Tom has had hands-on Transmission and Distribution experience managing crews; directing Systems Operations/Dispatch; managing Distribution Engineering; and, eventually CIO for the WI-MI service territory of the Midwest US. Tom’s major achievements centered on electric and gas utility project initiation based upon creating solid business cases, following through with project management skills and practical technology implementations; which delivered significant cost reductions and return on investment (ROI). Tom has served numerous clients to create their Smart Grid Business Cases and Technology Roadmaps, after previously assisting Client’s Program Management Office implementations and supporting DOE reporting requirements associated with Smart Grid Investment Grants (SGIG). Tom enjoys leading clients in developing their Smart Grid Strategies.
