Rajy S. Abulhosn, M.D., joined WorkCare, Inc., a national occupational health services company, as an Associate Medical Director and member of the consulting occupational physician team in early 2016. Dr. Abulhosn is based at LEI Medical Group, an occupational medicine clinic operated by WorkCare in San Diego, Calif. He performs medical surveillance and other physical exams for a diverse range of clients. He also provides business and leisure travel-related counseling, vaccinations and medications, and he serves as a consulting medical director. In addition, he provides care guidance to employers and employees who use WorkCare’s telephonic injury triage service, Incident Intervention. Dr. Abulhosn was formerly a physician partner in the Occupational Medicine Department at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego, where was Medical Director of the Executive Health and Employee Wellness Program. His experience includes service as a district office medical consultant for the California State Compensation Insurance Fund and staff physician in family medicine at Mid-City Community Clinic in San Diego. Dr. Abulhosn earned his Medical Doctorate at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., his home town. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and journalism. Dr. Abulhosn completed a family practice residency program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. He is board-certified in family medicine, a certified member of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine. His personal interests include spending time with his family, travel, physical fitness/exercise and soccer, current events, media and journalism, and he is an avid University of Washington sports fan.
