Babak Sarani, MD, is the founder and director of the Center for Trauma and Critical Care at George Washington University Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, where he also created the trauma ICU, launched a critical care transport program for which he is the medical director, and is also leading the effort to start the first aeromedical program at GW Hospital. He began his career as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Critical Care Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
