Richard Bunce
Interim Vice President for Finance and Budget

Mr. Bunce has served as a consultant to several universities in the areas of governance, intercollegiate athletics, strategic planning, and audit. He currently serves as a special advisor to the Office of the President at Virginia Commonwealth University, after serving as Interim Vice President for Finance and Budget for VCU. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bunce served as the Senior Advisor to the President at VCU, following 20 years of service as the university’s Executive Director of Audit and Management Services. Mr. Bunce’s professional experience also includes service in public accounting, legislative audit services, and internal auditing. Mr. Bunce received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his graduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a graduate of the Virginia Executive Institute.
