Katie Lawrence, MHA, CMPE, has more than a decade of experience in healthcare leadership and change management. For more than 10 years, Katie has worked for Greenville Health System (GHS), the largest health system in South Carolina. She spent most of this tenure in the Departments of Medicine and Family Medicine with practice management and oversight responsibilities, working with more than 200 providers across nearly 40 sites. Katie currently serves GHS as Director of Ambulatory Optimization and Integration. She works with 160+ practice sites to lead initiatives that impact 1400+ providers, her efforts focused on improving all aspects of the Quadruple Aim across the multi-specialty physician practice group. Katie has implemented innovative practice models, worked to improve ambulatory quality metrics, and led various initiatives to optimize GHS’s use of the electronic medical record. As GHS now joins Palmetto Health to become Prisma Health, Katie works with teams across the state of SC to continue to improve patient experience; to generate efficiencies for physicians, APPs, and team members; and to create sustainable, patient-centric growth in the ambulatory environment. Katie holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Spanish from Furman University and a Master’s in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Katie is a Certified Medical Practice Executive through the ACMPE. Her passion is simple: to partner with healthcare leaders to create organizations where team members flourish and where patients’ expectations are exceeded.
