Dr. Sophia Chiu is a medical officer in the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s Health Hazard Evaluations program. Many of her recent projects have involved potential occupational exposures to opioids among first responders. She graduated from Harvard University and completed medical school at the State University of New York—Stony Brook and residency training in occupational medicine at the University of Iowa.
