Movimento CTO and CMO Mahbubul Alam is charged with aligning automotive, operational technology and IT technology, corporate strategy, marketing and development to enable Movimento to anticipate, shape and lead automotive, transportation and market transitions. He directs architecture, technology, engineering, innovation, incubation of new solutions, marketing and communication across the company and develops a world-class technical talent. His focus is to help customers transform their businesses through technology and services innovation and offerings that support their business goals and increase their competitiveness.
Alam joined Movimento in 2015. Prior to that, he was Head of Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine at Cisco. During his leadership and tenure, Cisco became the global leader in Internet of Everything. Alam pioneered Cisco’s Machine-to-Machine (M2M)/Internet of Things (IoT) business from the ground up. In addition to pioneering and developing the IoT/M2M vision, strategy, platform, and execution plan, he helped initiate the company’s smart connected vehicle roadmap. Before joining Cisco, Alam held technical leader position at Siemens, leading network architecture for GSM-Railways, 2.5G and 3G networks and also served as a technical advisor to Dutch government.
Alam holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.
