Geoffrey Rigsby




Geoff Rigsby is the Southwest Regional Manager for Vibra-Tech Engineers, Inc., based out of Austin, Texas. Geoff manages a staff that provides monitoring and consulting services in 15 western states. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Missouri and has worked for 12 years in the field of engineering seismology, specializing in the analysis of seismic effects from blasting, pile driving, dynamic compaction, seismic operations, traffic, and other industrial vibrations. Geoff has observed, recorded and analyzed the effects of vibrations on various types of structures throughout the United States. Geoff has provided expert testimony for environmental hearing boards, zoning boards, and state and local regulatory agencies in the fields of blasting and seismology with an emphasis on vibration standards, and the effects of vibration on structures and construction materials. He is regularly asked to speak at industry conferences on blasting seismology, structural response, and strategies for best managing environmental risks often associated with mining and quarrying.
