Chris M. Hyle is an area account manager for Orica Mountain West, with 31 years of commercial explosives experience. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in environmental resource management from Penn State University (1977). Prior to his position as area account manager, servicing Montana, Wyoming and southern Idaho, Chris was a technical representative with IWE. He had a chance to participate in a variety of disciplines at IWE including surface metal and non-metal mining; limestone quarrying; underground gold and coal; avalanche control; and forestry applications. Chris has worked with Austin Powder Company as a site manager, as well as working as a drill & blast foreman for Pacificorp at their Centralia, WA Surface coal mine. Mr. Hyle has Coal Mine Foreman certification and is a Surface Coal Mine Blasting instructor and an MSHA instructor. Chris had served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain, Field Artillery branch, until his honorable discharge in 1983. Chris helped organize the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the ISEE in 1995, and in 1996 he joined the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the ISEE where he has served in a variety of roles, currently as treasurer.
