Coordinator of the Collegiate Recovery Program and Lecturer
University of North Carolina at Greensboro
Dr. Beeson has nearly ten years of direct counseling experience in a variety of settings. He currently provides neurofeedback at a private practice clinic, and is the coordinator of a collegiate recovery community at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is licensed as a counselor in West Virginia (LPC) and North Carolina (LPC) and is a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor. He received advanced training from the Rational Living Therapy Institute. Dr. Beeson has provided national-level presentations on the topic of neuroscience in counseling, including a well-attended Learning Institute on neuroscience-informed cognitive behavior therapy during last year’s (2014) ACA conference. He is second author of a published peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Mental Health Counseling (July 2015) on the topic of neuroscience-informed cognitive-behavior therapy. He is a member of the ACA, ACES, and AMHCA Neuroscience Interest Networks (NIN). He serves as the ACES NIN resource library co-chair.
