Michael Fleming is the CEO of TORC Robotics, a leading provider of self-driving technology in mobile robotics. Fleming co-founded TORC in 2006 as a research faculty member at Virginia Tech where he led the development of autonomy for the DARPA Urban Challenge team VictorTango which was one of three teams to complete this historic race. Since 2007, Fleming has overseen Torc’s commercialization of self-driving technology into military route clearance in Afghanistan, enabling the blind to drive at the Daytona International Speedway, and automating mining trucks. Fleming received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2003 and 2004.
