USDOL/OSHA

Anthony Campos is an OSHA Compliance Officer in the Ft Lauderdale OSHA Office. Anthony became an OSHA Compliance Officer in 2001 and was assigned to the Manhattan Area Office at 6 World Trade Center. These were turbulent times and in 2003 I transferred to the Fort Lauderdale Area Office. In the last 17 years I have been involved in the investigation of fatalities, injuries and multiple significant cases which included shoring and scaffolding collapses, explosions, falls, trenches, equipment failures, cranes, electrocutions, and currently investigating a bridge collapse. Prior to OSHA, Anthony was a Captain with the New York City Fire Department with experience in fire suppression, fire protection, building inspections and personnel management. Some noteworthy assignments were as a New York State Certified Instructor at the NYFD Fire Academy teaching special projects, extrication, torches, and use of hydraulic tools in rescue. His next assignment was as a member of the Rescue Liaison Unit and we responded city-wide to fires and emergencies to coordinate activities between the Police Department and the Fire Department. After promotion to Lieutenant, Anthony served in Brooklyn as a first line supervisor until promotion to Captain. He was then assigned to Headquarters and became the Executive Officer of the Safety Command which also oversaw the OSHA unit for private contractors. His next assignment was as the commanding officer for the Fire Department Certified First Responder program and subsequently after 28 years in the fire service he retired in 2001 and embarked on a new career.
