Neville L. Johnson Neville L. Johnson founded the Beverly Hills firm of Johnson & Johnson LLP, which specializes in business, media, intellectual property and entertainment litigation, consumer and entertainment class actions, and transactional work. Mr. Johnson has tried 26 jury cases, been nominated for Trial Lawyer of the Year by CAALA (board since 2005) and been recognized many times as a Super Lawyer. He is a member of ABOTA, Public Justice (board), and the Beverly Hills Bar Association (board, past Chair Entertainment Section). From 2008 to 2020,, the Hollywood Reporter designated him one of the top 100 entertainment lawyers in the nation, one of a handful of plaintiff-side attorneys. Subsequently he was moved into a permanent category as a “Legal Legend.” I He was profiled for his work suing movie studios in the Los Angeles Times, “Contract Sport, 'Go-To' L.A. Lawyer Says Hollywood Studios Are Shortchanging His Clients,” June 25, 2015. He has taught Entertainment and Media Litigation at Southwestern Law School since 2013. The treatise Privacy Torts contains a dedication that he “ranks with Brandeis and Warren as the great defenders of privacy. All America is in his debt.” He has written many law review articles and columns on entertainment and media issues. “Suing the Media, Supporting the First Amendment: The Paradox of Neville Johnson and the Battle for Privacy,” 67 Albany Law Review 1097 (2004), examines his career suing the media.
