Dr. Lynea LaVoy is a motivated academic professional, loyal to the opportunity to cultivate leadership in foodservice and hospitality. She has over 20 years of business and industry experience, covering hospitality, leadership, communication, social media, strategic management, teaching and learning, talent management, project management and research experience in higher education. Lynea embraces inclusive leadership by modeling values of justice, compassion, truth, community, and partnership. She also follows the Madison College mission of providing open access to quality higher education that fosters lifelong learning and success within our communities. Lynea takes pride in being a leader in accessible, affordable education that meets the evolving needs of our diverse communities and values excellence, respect, commitment to students and diverse communities and making higher education available to all. Committed to flexible methods of adult learning and teaching, Lynea has had 5 courses approved by Quality Matters. She is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) through the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute and has many other certifications, including Myers Briggs Type Indicator Certification (MBTI). She received her Doctor of Educational Leadership from Edgewood College in Madison, and recently earned second Masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Regis University.
