Breanna (Bre) is a third year doctoral student in the Counselor Education program at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She is originally from Atwood, Tennessee, and spent much of her younger years in Lincolnshire, England. Bre has a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University - Nashville. She has worked in behavioral health research and program evaluation for six years, where she has developed a specialty in suicide prevention in youth and adults. In addition to suicide prevention, Bre's research interests include mindfulness-informed counseling and pedagogy and clinical interventions for incarcerated youth. Clinically, Bre has worked mostly with this population and will focus on these youths' experiences of trauma and emotion dysregulation for her dissertation. In the future, Bre plans to continue her work in research and program evaluation while teaching research methods to counselors-in-training. Additionally, Bre hopes to expand the advocacy presence for suicide prevention and intervention within the counseling discipline.
