R. Bruce Kershner is owner and President of the R. Bruce Kershner Company, Longwood, Florida, which specializes in Association Management and Governmental Relations. Presently Mr. Kershner represents several construction based trade groups. Mr. Kershner has been involved in the construction industry since 1969. He holds a State Certified Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor’s license, a State Certified Residential Contractors license, an Orange County Class A Certificate of Competency for Underground Utilities and is a Registered Lobbyist in Tallahassee. As a contractor, he has held various positions and is versed in administration and engineering. Mr. Kershner has been involved in many major construction projects in Florida including Walt Disney World, The Contemporary Hotel, and other major projects involving DOT, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc. As a Registered Lobbyist with the State of Florida, Mr. Kershner has been involved in the legislative process since 1988. Mr. Kershner has been active in governmental affairs as it relates to issues affecting the construction industry. On behalf of his clients, he has taken an active role in the development of many of the laws and rules which regulate the construction industry. Mr. Kershner routinely monitors the action of the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) and was instrumental in drafting rules for continuing education requirements.
